Is this tyre dangerous?

I noticed a small gauge in one of my tyres this morning. I went to a nearby Michelin but the maintenance guys there said it's nothing to worry about. I'm a bit unconvinced and would like other opinions.

TBH I'd be more concerned about the cracking on the sidewall of the tyre. It indicates that tyre is old.

If I had one in that condition I would be changing it.

Check the age of your tyres. It is stamped on the side wall.

As for the other mark I can't see too well maybe because I am using a phone.

They don`t look that bad though but that size comes cheap enough. Change both on the same axle.

Imo the chunk in the wall has or will compromise the strength of the tyre wall meaning it will be more at risk of a blow out. If it were my tyre on my car I'd be shot of it.

A gash in a sidewall is a risk.
Swap over and use it as spare tyre instead.

Good idea. If a tyre gets a bang hard enough to knock a lump out of it there is more than a good chance damage has also been done to the tyre structure that is not visible. Never a chance I would take.
