    Hi all,

We're looking for information needed to support our application to lobby to retain the medical card of a family member. We're at a bit of a loss here as we don't know the process - do we lobby every politician or only one? Will it work against us if several politicians are making representations on our behalf?

To give some background quickly, a family member suffered a very debilitating brain injury leaving him requiring 24/7 care. He's a man in his 50s so is facing 20-30+ years in the system. He's in a nursing home at present (part-funded by the family) and has a medical card - however the latest budget has left us looking like we'll fall short of the requirements because of income (on paper).

We've been advised by a local political representative to basically list every single cost associated with his care outside of what he receives. In no particular order, Nursing Home, Wheelchair Car + expenses, Daily Meds, Continence-wear, access to OT/Physio/Speech & Language Therapy, Cost of Home Improvements,Aids & Appliances etc.

Are there obvious things we're missing, could anyone else who has been in this situation advise?
