Where in Castletroy is this estate?

Do you know where the copper cab for your house/estate is?

It's on groody road at the end on the left.. Is the copper cab a box in which all the houses in the estate go back to

The link road between Dublin Rd and Tipperary Rd?

Yes, copper cab will normally be a dark green cab which will feed an estate. Each fibre cab will be associated with a copper cab. If your line isn't connected through a copper cab then fibre is not an option for you as direct feeds aren't in scope for fibre to the home.

There's a copper and fibre cab in the estate near the shops close to the Dublin Rd end of that link road.

Have a look at the map here and see if there's a copper/fibre cab close to your house.

Have a read through this thread for info about speed, connection, etc

Ya that's the road alright the estate is closer to the Tipperary road then the Dublin road. I'll have a look for that box tomorrow as I know there's a box as you come into estate. Do you work with eircom thanks for your help !!

Just looking at the map in the link above, there seems to two cabs at the Dublin Rd side but none at Tipp side, if that's accurate then your speed depends on the length of run from fibre cab to your house. 1km was the max distance but I think that's improved now.

Yep, its as low as 8Mb for VDSL now.

Thats about 2Km. But it'd be nice if you were closer.

Passed there this morning, both the fibre and copper cabs are there, just on left off roundabout as you head up hill to estate.
