Had a free fitting in my club today with Ping.
Very good service. Tried the G25 & the new Karsten's. Was hitting the 25's lovely but then he introduced the Karsten's. As I can say is wow! They are gorgeous & every single shot creamed. Apparently they are on the market from next Friday. Didn't get prices yet as the practice area is not beside the pro shop so will pop in over the weekend to see about my tech sheet.

Has anybody tried them or know anything about the Karsten's. They are a wide sole club. Shaft chosen was steel stiff & angle lie blue dot.

I was up at Kinsealy last Sunday for the Ping demo day. Had my heart set on the i25's and was hitting them really well, but then the fitter gave me the Karsten irons to try and I was seriously impressed. They are huge compared to the i25s. I'd probably say they're the biggest irons I've ever seen. I didn't want to like them (I was planning to move to a less chunky iron than I currently use) but it's really hard to argue with the results I was getting from them. They are being marketed as distance irons, so I wasn't suprised to be hitting them further than the i25's, but what really impressed me was the forgiveness and the confidence you get from the big club head. I'm not sure which ones to go for now. I'm planning to go and hit them both again before making any decisions.

Yeah, that's exactly what happened me. Loved the i25's, hitting them well. He handed me the Karstens & he didn't have to say a word. Just listened to my "holy jaysus" comments after each shot.

Nicest feel club I've ever hit.

I was saying something similar alright. I really wasn't expecting to like them. I had seen pictures of them before I went up and hadn't even considered trying them. I would prefer to be able to get a 4 iron, but the 4 hybrid I hit was really nice as well. He mentioned that they could sell me a set without the 4 hybrid if I wanted.

I also prefer an iron over a hybrid. The standard set is 5-SW or 4H-SW.
I will probably go for the 4H-SW as I suppose it will be something you get used to. Did you get any prices?

I think he said 699 for 4h-PW. I didn't get a price for the other wedges. I use a G25 3 hybrid at the moment and love it so it wouldn't be a big change to use a 4h I suppose. I might consider getting a G25 4h instead of the Karsten one though.

    I got a price for 4H-SW for €675.
    i25's 4-SW for €599.

Both through my club pro shop.

That's a good price. Mind me asking where that was? McGuirks will probably price match. I have to go with them as I have some vouchers I want to use.

Well, my order went in today for the Karsten's. Birthday in 2 weeks time & the missus buying them for me. Yee haw!
4H + 5-SW. Can't wait. My pro rang me back to say they should be here by the end of next week if not the beginning of the following week. Left handed are built to order so they take a little longer than right handed.
Will have to shine the old set before putting them up on Adverts!

Absolutely gorgeous clubs. Really nice feel & weighty head which I love.
    Ball flight is lovely.
Downside for the moment is I have to re-learn distance. Probably a club less for each shot over my Callaways if not a bit more. Overshot a good few greens today, but that will improve very quickly as I get used to them.
The 4H is a beauty. Again, I overshot with it. 17th par 3, I was 172 yards to the pin into a strong wind. Pin was at the back but I overshot the green by 20 yards!
Overall verdict: Nicest club I've ever owned.
I can really see my handicap coming down considerably this year with them.
Today net 3 under & it was stroke play.
