    Hello

I was wondering if anyone out there knows if it is possible to have a sand ceremony as opposed to the lighting of candles at a HSE civil ceremony?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks a mill :)

I think you definitely can. You can do anything you want as long as its not religious based.

We were actually told we couldnt have a candle lighting ceremony in the registry office because it was a fire hazard. Had to be a push button fake candle thing.

Would be different in hotels though.

Oh thats great news, thanks for that.

Bit annoying about the candle thing. We will be in a hotel so should be ok...

Thanks for getting back to me.

I have seen that done alright. Be careful with your choice of holder for the sand. I saw one that kept tipping over like it was possessed. Funny to watch but...
