    It's P60 time again
For those of us who are working in Ireland, we get to see how much tax we paid last year and possibly claim some of it back

This got me wondering, how many Boardsies get more money from the state than they pay in tax?

For simplicity sake, I'm only including taxes on income (not vat or excise or any of that) and direct payments from the state (include - child benefit, family income supplement, student grants/allowances, farming payments, Carers allowance, rent supplement etc)

For me, My income qualifies my family for Family income supplement, so we as a family get FIS and Child benefit from the state. (which we are extremely grateful for, genuinely, they make things bearable, survivable)

These payments are significantly more than the tax I paid on my wages last year. So who else is a Leech like me?
    Any other Parasites around?

Btw, to those who pay a lot more in tax than they get in payments from the state. Cheers guys. I genuinely appreciate it.

I don't get anything directly from the state but obviously I use other services like water which I currently don't pay for.

Also the option is Atari Jaguar because it's irrelevant SNES was never irrelevant it was the market leader

You don't "receive" your tax credits either per sé. That's just the Gummint being shockin' daycint and not robbing a portion of all your income.

Got children's allowance years ago when a month's worth wouldn't by a pair of kids shoes. Apart from that I never got a cent from the state but oais huge taxes - over 50% PAYE alone in the 80s. I never even got one week's sick pay from them in over 40 years working. Even now I pay tax etc on my private pension with no state pension.

    You're welcome! :)

The state pays me to do work for it. I pay tax on this back to the state, creating jobs in the process. I'm like an Irish Howard Hughes.

I hope you're not being paid by the state while you're on boards are you?

I was on a week1 tax code from March of last year. I'm owed a shït load of a refund, but the amount of bejaysus forms they sent me out to try claim it back is a fcuking joke tbh.

I don't even know where to start with them

It's like they don't want me to claim it back.

It made me vomit a little in my mouth seeing how much they took. I'm entitled to nothing and have never gotten anything off them supplements/allowance/payments/grant wise since I started working 16 years ago.

Tbh though, I don't mind paying it to help out those that need it and to keep the country running. I just hate seeing it wasted.

I don't understand these forms, let alone the P60.

I get my P60 - look and weep at the taxes I've paid and then go back to the office on a monday to suffer another year of being r@ped :(

    Oh woo is me
