does anyone know if you can play 3d games/watch 3d movies through a nvidia gtx 660 without having to buy those special nvidia glasses that are a waste of money?

They're not a waste of money first of all, if you're into 3D, 3D Vision is excellent, had it for years.

But yes you can use regular Anagylph glasses too for games, nowhere near as good though. If you don't have an Nvidia 3D ready monitor, have to use tridef software for 'real' 3d, not as good.
