Two storey extension

I was looking a 3 bed semi with a double bedroom and bathroom upstairs to the back of the house.
If I was to build a two storey extension, would you have to create a corridor by taking some room from the bedroom to walk out to the double extension?

Yes should be mor than enough. My friend is getting a 400 sq ft rear extension at present for 23k excluding kitchen , tiling and fittings etc
