I'm looking to do some heavy remodelling in the bathrooms in my house and have zero experience with the available companies in NCD. Does anyone have any recommendations of who to use?

    I'm looking to;
    - Remodel an en-suite (inc. conversion into a wet room)
    - Remodel adjacent main bathroom
    - Potentially combine the above into one big bathroom
    - If we do go to combine them, I'd look to get a we troom installed in the downstairs bathroom

I got a quote a few years ago to convert the en-suite alone and it was something like 8k :0
I was shocked as it's so small, you can practically stretch out your arms and touch the walls. I hope this isn't a realistic price!

    Thanks in advance

My mother got her bathroom completely remodelled a few years ago by a guy she heard of through word of mouth. She was really pleased and has since recommended him to other people who were also pleased with his work. He specialises in bathrooms, and although he's not in NCD (I think he's in Artane), I'm pretty sure he'd be willing to travel.
If you want I'll PM you his number - you'll probably want to get a few quotes.

Please do, thanks a million. My other problem is that I have no imagination. So a showroom would help wonders. That said, I can do research online for a design that would suit if it worked out a lot cheaper!

    PM sent :)

Any time we were planning bathrooms I always found Davies showroom in Harmonstown really good for fittings. Also, a good tile showroom will often have bathroom layouts. We went to Tilestyle, they've since moved to Ballymount but it would be worth the trip because their layouts are great.
I've just googled them and apparently they won Bathroom Showroom of the year 2012.

I'd also recommend Davies. I found their staff in the showrooms really helpful when I was upgrading my bathroom. I got great advice on the bathroom to suit my budget. Really happy with the results.

Well Tierney's did our kitchen, and Donabate bathrooms did our bathrooms. No major problems, although they do seem quite busy when trying to get some follow-up work done - in theory that's a good sign but it's also a bit frustrating trying to get them to come out and look at something.

It was them that quoted me 8k for my en-suite (and said it would take 3 weeks), so they're ruled out. Thanks anyway!

Sam Brooks is the place, have only used him for small jobs but the showroom is nice and he seems like a really nice guy - very friendly. Worth getting a quote from imho as i've found the small bits i've got done to be very reasonably priced.

They quoted me 8k for one bathroom, which they insisted be a wet room (???) - got all 3 done for under 10k from these guys - and delighted with them all.

Like everything in life you can spend as much or as little as you like. Equally they could put together a €20k bathroom for you easily too.

We went with the sonas range. Order a catalogue and you'll see the wide range of prices. We picked everything ourselves from rads, shower trays, doors, shower etc and they put it together for us along with tiles from doramics.

The facebook page is worth a browse for photos.

I wonder are they wet rooms for that price?
Wet rooms are expensive especially if there upstairs.
It's mainly due to the tanking, a proper wet room is tanked in stuff that's like glass fibre like the Hull of a boat then treated and tilled ect.
I'm not talking about the stuff you get in a tub and paint onto the wall. BAL i think it's called. That's ok for around the wall of a bath.
