Ok. So I have no idea if this is a good or bad idea but feck it.

The last few weeks have been kind of crazy, I think we'll all agree. And I've felt the need to do something. I wasn't sure what. Just SOMETHING- I've been getting very sick of straight people telling me and others like me what homophobia is, and saying it doesn't exit. Bullsh!t. Then you get the same people trotted out in the media to debate what it is, and the same stories and experiences go around and around.

And seeing the reaction to Pantis oration, and the speeches made in the Dail earlier made me think- well, maybe people just have no idea how subtle and insidious homophobia is in Ireland? And if that's the case, we need to educate them.

So I set up LGBTQ In Ireland- a tumblr blog where you can submit your story whatever way you want to be added to the many voices already in the public domain.

So, please think about telling your story- good or bad- about how coming out has been for you, what it's like to be gay in Ireland in 2014. People need to hear from people in all walks of life and all sections of society- not just the people picked to go on the panel shows.

Here's the link. Please share it, if you can.
