Is it possible to have a slow acting anaphlactic shock?

Hi, I have allergies but they aren't able to pin down what to. I have to take 1 neo claritin and 1 telfast a day at the minimum. Some days have to repeat that dose later in the day. Today is one of those days.

I was having a meal after college which I have had on a few occasions containing brie, salad, walnuts and beetroot. I found myself extremely itchy after it and took my 2nd dose of anti histamines for the day. After 1/2 hour the itching didnt ease so I took a 3rd neo-claritin.

The itching still didn't go away but I had to drive home from Dublin to Monaghan so hit the road.

Half way down the road my lips started to swell a little and feel spongy. My throat feels scratchy and am coughing a little. I am asthmatic and am feeling a bit out of breath. The scariest part was the weird pain in my heart which is still coming and going and the feeling like I am floating.....not conducive to safe driving in the early hours of the morning.

I am home now and took my back up-if-all-else-fails medication called Rinozal about 20 minutes ago and while the itching has calmed a little I am still feeling really weird and floaty.

Basically am wondering am I having slow motion anaphlactic shock and should I go to Doctor on Call or am I just worrying too much. This happened once before a few years ago but they never found out what triggered it.

Am very curious and wondering if I suddenly have become sensitive to Walnuts as could always eat them before but the last allergic episode like this came out of nowhere too.

We can't give medical advice on boards - If you're worried see the doctor
