Bluetooth problems with windows 8.1

    Hi guys,

Having some trouble with connecting an audio device to my laptop via bluetooth. When I scan for the device it finds it and connects but after a few seconds it disconnects again. Also the device doesn't look like it acknowledges it has connected with the laptop during this period and music still plays from the laptop speakers.

I have done all the windows updates possible and still isnt working, some forums say it was working fine before 8.1 but I never tried it then to know if it worked for me. Laptop is Lenovo Ideapad Z580. I have a feeling it might be to do with windows firewall but under rules I dont see any bluetooth device listed.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Cheers!

Type (search for) Volume, select Adjust Volume Settings, click System Sounds and the Playback tab you might see your device there. Select it if it is.

I'm guessing that the speaker is terminating the connection after a while as you are not sending it a signal. But hey. it's only a guess.
