Another foggy windows thread - air con question...

Sorry, I didn't think I'd be bringing up the topic of foggy windows myself! I haven't had much bother all winter, just turned on the fan and heat for a bit when driving off and windows didn't even fog up.

Used the air con a few times in recent weeks after reading about it dehumidifying, and the problem now is, yes it's very effective at demisting, but ever since I started using it, I've a problem where the windows are foggy to start off with when I get into the car!

Possible co-incidence and I should check seals in case something else happened around the same time, or could there be something up with the air con? The blown air does feel drier when the air con is on, and the front windscreen demists fast, but getting sick of waiting even 20-30 seconds now before driving off every time the last 3 or 4 times.

The only thing that happened before was that if the fresh air (without air con) was turned off completely, the windows would fog up a bit after a while with three of us in the car (wife would prefer the air off when driving - she wears contacts).

Is the air recycling switched off? Aircon may have turned off fresh air in as it's designed to run with recycled air.

There's a seperate button to switch to recirculated air (lights up when selected).
