Playing guitar while wearing headphones

I record my guitar playing with a Zoom H4n and, when playing electric guitar, I listen to the output through a pair of headphones as I'm playing. I usually use a pair of wireless headphones but there's far too much interference. Sometimes it's so bad the interference is louder than the sound of the guitar.

I'm now using a pair of wired headphones. I'm having difficulty keeping the headphone wire out of my way. If I keep the wire between my stomach and the guitar, the guitar keeps catching the wire and almost pulling the headphones off my head. If I let the wire hang in front of the guitar it keeps hitting off of the strings. The best solution I've found so far is to sit beside a door and wrap some of the wire around the door knob. However that doesn't leave me much room to move and the wire is still hitting off of my arm, which is annoying.

I just can't think of a way of keeping the headphone wire out of my way. Does anyone have any suggestions?

How about you loop the wire through one of your trousers' belt loops?

Can you put the headphones on so the cable runs down your back?

I tried your suggestion. It worked. :)

That's why I suggested the belt loop. Not only can you direct the cable down your back, but by threading it through the belt loop you can ensure it stays there :-)

I use headphones live and in studio. All you do is put the wire down your t shirt, either back or front. If needed, headphone extension cables are very cheap (circa 20 quid) at the usuall allcables etc places.

Can you buy wireless headphones specifically for playing guitar that DOESNT pick up all the interference?

I have a pair of bluetooth headphones and a minijack to bluetooth adapter.
Total cost via amazon approx €45. No interference. No cables!
