I have been put on the waiting list to have a dental surgeon extract my bottom wisdom teeth,But the problem is one of them has an exposed nerve,Which at the minute is causing extreme pain,I just used so much clove oil that i feel sick. :(

Anyway i was reading online that dentists can simply kill the nerve by placing a substance on the exposed area is this true? Can i walk into the dentist tomorrow and ask them to kill a nerve with out a root canal being done?

No need, just go to a surgeon to remove the wisdom tooth who doesnt have a waiting list. Its not that expensive, I can PM you if you want a name.

Has anyone heard of a dentist killing a nerve?

Yes its called a root canal treatment. Wisdom tooth can be around 250-300 each if they are difficult surgical extractions, lot less if they are non surgical.

It's not a root canal, apparently they can kill the nerve by applying some form of gel to it. (Might be bull)

Im flat broke Fitz that why im on the list for the surgeon.... :(

I was hoping some one would tell me that they have heard of dentists quickly, simply and cheaply killing nerves.........I Guess i wont be walking into my dentist tomorrow for a quick fix.

when you're lying back in the chair, just grasp the dentist by the balls and say............"now, we won't hurt each other, will we?"

(if it's a female dentist use plan B)

    :D

There were some compounds used in the past that "fix" the nerve like embalming. They are however not safe to use, still see them from some other countries. There are sedative dressings you can get, and antibiotic pastes that any dentist will have that can help. If you are in pain you have to do something. :(

If it's so bad get yourself to an emergency dentist this morning! Don't suffer more than you need.

No money and none near by man.

On another note the rest of the top on the tooth broke off,The pain that is usually tud, tud,Changed to a constant unbroken pain,It was agony and lasted for 14 hours,But then i bought Nurofen plus ibuprofen/codeine they were 10 euro for 24 and the pain is completely gone im amazed,

Fitz if anyone has this issue and cant attend the dentist straight away recommend this drug. ;) (For short term use)
