Is anyone watching this? it's the BDO's new tournament in Blackpool. Eurosport are covering it. The returning Ted Hankey failed to make the televised stages. Andy Fordham made the cut but was beaten in the last 32.

Runs to the 9th of Feb.

Great that this is on and being covered by Eurosport. I've been saying for a while that the BDO should a deal with Eurosport to cover tournaments throughout the year. They can be what Sky are to the PDC.

Awful sound quality on Eurosport. I'm flicking between this and the Premier League and the difference in sound is quite noticible. No atmosphere at the Blackpool event either.

I thought Andy Fordham was beaten but he is on now against Alan Norris. He really has piled the weight back on!

The camera work is awful on Eurosport, it's shaking all over the place!

He really has piled the weight back on alright. Does not look healthy whatsoever.

    A few questions on this:
    1. Where is it on in Blackpool?
    2. Is there much of a crowd/atmosphere?
    3. What is prize fund for the winner?

May be a bad idea clashing with opening night of PL

It's the in Tower Ballroom in Blackpool. Tbh the venue looks pretty decent, not too big and not too small. Prize fund is £80k with £30k for the winner so definitely good for BDO standards.

To be fair to the BDO they are probably doing all they can to get more TV recognition and this is a great start. It's just a pity that Eurosports coverage is so amateurish looking.

Coverage is dreadful. Sound quality is awful, u can't hear the crowd or walk on music so u don't get the atmosphere & the first camera man had clearly never picked up a dart in his life. The current one is marginally better.
However, they have shown the womens matches which is more than the BBC ever do.
And at least its darts on a channel I can watch!
    Come on Wes.

James Wilson is the champion beating Ross montgomery 13-11 in the final.

Another title for the Jammie Dodger . Ross unlucky after his Dutch open win last weekend
