To be honest I love building pc's but I don't get a whole lot out if that after customs tax and all I'm left with less than 50 quid but I love doing this

Its a pretty weak spec first of all, all the parts can be gotten from HWVS for way less than 1500 and theres no customs tax as they're coming from Germany

€1.5k an no SSD is madness, whatever about any other spec.

Is your full name Danny Mac Bride by any chance? you need to pay Irish suppliers "customs tax"? Some holes in your story pal. But thanks for the help.

For €1500 that's the worst looking PC I've ever seen in my life. A GTX 760 and a 2 year old AMD CPU?

    Intel i5 4670k
    8GB of Ram
    MSI G45 motherboard
    GTX 770 or the AMD R9 280x
Corsair 750w Semi Modular, if you want the best go for the RM series
    128GB SSD
2TB western Digital green (black is the best)
Wifi card/ keyboard and mouse are under €50 if you're not fussed and the copy of windows is about €80

The case is down to yourself but you want something with nice cable management, can't go wrong with Corsair or Cool Master

You'll easy get that PC with the money you have and maybe even a 1440p 27" monitor from Korea

Also you can use PC part picker to find the best prices for each component but I find https://www.aria.co.uk the cheapest.

    1067+90+140+45 = 1500?

I went to the wrong maths class perhaps

And plenty left over for a 1440P Qnix and can add another graphics card when needs be and overclock the processor as well. R9 290 is a perfect single card for 1440P and can add another one further down the line instead of lower end cards like the 760

    Item|Price
    8GB-Kit Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 MHz CL9|€76.44
Samsung SSD 840 EVO Basic 120GB SATA 6Gb/s|€74.99

Nice of you to join the thread just to say that..bravo..

Nice of you in turn to advise someone looking for a gaming PC to buy a €1500 Mac that would struggle feebly through the latest games at 1080p and fail at others.

Worst advice I've seen yet. Back to the Apple forum with you, thanks.

Thanks all for the suggestions and cheers Danny but I shall be building it from that German site, have a fair idea what to get now

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,253 ✭✭✭..Brian..

What the fudge is going on? That rubbish build Danny posted?! Buy a mac?! Probably the worst advise I have seen given on the forum!

OP go with YaWhat's build from HWVD for €1138 delivered. Buy a 1440p QNIX monitor for about ~€300 incl tax and delivery and buy yourself and mouse and keyboard from Amazon with the remaining ~€100. Sorted! And it will blow the absolute bejaysus out of the other, laughable, builds mentioned already!

Go for a 850 watt power supply if planning on running dual. Only have a 700 watt in my build.

Also make sure you use geizhals.de to save yourself a fair bit.
