Heat recovery ventilation - replacement fans

I have a 7 year old heat recovery ventilation system in my house, and the intake fan has stopped working. The company who supplied the system say that they don't use those fans anymore, and can't supply a replacement.

It seems to me that electric fans are probably a commodity item made by the zillion, and a replacement of the right size/voltage shouldn't be difficult to find. Any thoughts/tips?

I would tend to agree. Can you get the fan details (make, model no ) and google it. If you find it then buy 2 so you have one for when the extract fails.

Btw, can you pm me the make / model of hrv system please.

i have a similar proble with a system i bought 7 years ago as well. The company i bought it off have gone, although some of their staff have set up on their own.
I was talking to them and am being told that the dutch supplier is no longer making parts / closing down.
Their advice was to purchase a new system!!!

Check out farnell or radionics. You should find something that will work. Maybe?!

If it's the Fan your looking <snip> They carry a vast selection of Fans and are very helpful.
Alternatively take your faulty Fan to an Electrical rewind shop. They will rewind it to the same specification as new.
