Doing day course,lost full time job mid course...options now

    Hiya
    Started a full time day course in Sept while working full time evenings and weekends
    Was made redundant in Dec#

    Only got my p45 last week but had an appointment for with social welfare yesterday,Gave in the forms etc and was told can'tmake any claim because of my course?I can after may

    Looking for advice and opitions now

    P.s course is fetac till may 2014

    Your sw office is correct. You are a full time student therefore you are not a jobseeker. You have to be available and looking for full time work.

    Thanks for the reply.so any options after paying tax the last 16 years?

    If I leave or de-register from the course I can make a claim?

    Also was made redundant onky getting paperwork late what should I do

    Any advice welcome please

    If you leave the course get a letter stating same,you will be able to clain then.

    You might be entitled to Back To Education as you were made redundant. Though they may not except your claim at this late stage, maybe go to your local TD see if they can get info on Redundancy and BTE.
