Quick Comparative (eng) question

    For the two part question in part (a) it tells you to discuss _____ in one text. Then for part (b) it says compare _____ in two other texts.

    So, do you mention your first text (the one you used in part a) in the part b, or just talk about the other two in part b?

    The way it is worded, they are talking about three texts. Text A that you discuss ______in and Texts B & C that you compare under the heading/theme ___________.

    You can mention Text 1 briefly in part b:
    E.g. As discussed in part a, the theme of love was shown through Kathy in __________.
    The majority of the answer should focus on text 2 and 3 however.

    According to our English teacher there is often a bit of confusion about this. Unless it specifies otherwise they can't deduct you marks for referring to the text in part (a) in part (b).

    They won't deduct marks, but it wastes your time writing stuff you will get no marks for. Better to answer the question they ask you.
