Nicknames that are just plain ridiculous

I have come across a number of people over the years that have nicknames and its often got me wondering as to the origin of these names. Some of the reasons for labelling people with these names that are routinely used more commonly than there can be very obscure. I know of one guy called Rat, merely because when he was six he pestered his parents for a pet rat which they eventually gave in and bought him. The poor git is now in his 30's and it seems he will get Rat till his dying day. Does anyone know of any other poor sods landed with a nickname from hell?

    How about "Dog-Shíte Lynch?

My friends father was telling us one day about a fella they knew in Palmerstown in Dublin and that was his nickname. He's still called it to this day.

    Sickener!

A friend of mine is known as The Elite because he's a qualified accountant.
He was originally referred to as the elite of society by one lad who had a hard on for anyone who was able to pass the exams he kept failing himself.

There was a post on this before. Someone said their friend was chinese and carried a bit of weight, so his nickname was Fat Asian

Fella whose real name was Alex. He was given the name "pox bottle" and it stuck. The closest I ever got to an explanation was 'because he is one'. Nice guy though, as was his older brother.

Sometimes nicknames just stick. I had a ridiculous one from the age of 9 to about 18 when I left school.

Personal, I hate the ones ending in "-zza" or "-o" (Johno, Deco, Kevo...)

Everything I don't like is either woke or fascist - possibly both - pick one.

Heard a few great ones, but one of my Scottish mates is nicknamed Paedo Dave, which often needs explaining, but to the best of my knowledge he isn't actually a paedophile.

I know of a girl who earned the name dog sh*t because she kneeled in dog sh*t when she was giving some lad a bj in the middle of a field

Have a good pal with the surname Kerr, at some point in our teens, and very maturely I may add, we started calling him Wan. He's been called Wan for the last 20 odd years and it has stuck solidly.... friends, family and his now fiancé all call him Wan.

When I was in school there were two girls with the same name. On the first day, one of them was wearing a shirt that said Belgium on it, so for the rest of the time as school everyone called her Belgium.

My fiancé is Dangles, because there's a guy that lives near him who has the same real name and only has one testicle.

Fella i know and his nickname is cockarse, just randomly stuck with him and even developed into stuff like dont be a cockarse , stop acting the cockarse etc

Friends always called me Danny for aslong as I can remember.

Due to some football exploits I temporarily got the name "pippo" (football fans will get it) but after my somewhat horrid addiction to energy drinks emerged, I've been labelled now the past few weeks as "Monster". And it has very much stuck..for better or worse:(

It's rare any of my mates would be called by their real names. Some of the ones that stand out are:

    Fat-Rash
    Shitty
    Sweat-Wallet
    Copperballs
Onion (Because he's round and his smell makes people cry)

    Lovely bunch of lads.

I had a friend who had a near death drowning experience while on holiday and instead of showing sympathy when i found out I decided it best to call him "Robert Drowney Jr" all summer. It stuck for a while until he cracked up with it and he thumped some guy....not me which it should have rightly been!

I worked with a woman who had the same name for the same reason, but also because she kicked like one too! She was one hell of a worker though! Left some so-called men drinkin' her sweat!!

In the middle of a field? You sure it was a lad?

Was in college with the same lads that I still hang around with.

One of the girls is referred to as "weather beaten face". Another girl got hammered one night so not eating and getting hammered is now known as doing a "her name".
    We also have

    "The velvet leprechaun"
    "Cro-Balls"
    "H'Alan"
Way more but couldn't think off hand.
