    Hi guys,

I'm considering going down the line of a gaming laptop in about 10 months time or so.

Bear with me now.... my reason for the timing is I have an xbox 360 that I have about 10months to a year of gaming left in ie games I want to finish off/backlog plus will give me time to save up the rest of the funds needed.

I was considering a PS4 and I suppose still am if I dont go the laptop route but the more I think about it a gaming laptop might suit my needs better.

I have one telly in the house and the missus watches suff on it. Currently I'm playing a lot of my "gaming" on the Wii U or my Playstation Vita as I can sit on the couch, still feel somewhat socialable with the missus whilst still getting some game time in. Its amazing how much more I've played on the couch since getting those 2 devices recently vs my 360 pretty much going unused or used only when she's out of the house. I know if I get the PS4 I can remote play on the Vita but it is a small screen. Its my second choice behind the laptop at the moment. Not a bad option but Laptop seems like a way better choice albeit a lot more expensive.

I know I'd get a lot more PC for my budget by the way but it just doesnt make sense for my situation ie playing whilst reclyned on my couch, plus I do like the idea of portability for the times I'm away from the house like hols or whatever.

Anyway my budget will be roughly 1500 euro. Really dont want to spend any more than that if at all possible.

So far Ive looked at pc specialist. I'll probably go with the 15.6'' end of things.. 14'' is probably that bit small and the 17'' is just too big for my needs.

Any other places I should be looking outside of pc specialist??

I looked at the likes of Alienware, love the cases but seems a bit on the pricey side for the specs.
I love the looks and size in particular of the Razor but again a bit on the pricey side of things.

Laptop will be mainly used for gaming, capable of high end graphics if possible. Ideally it'd be at least on par with the PS4 or XboxOne graphically and hopefully more tbh so that it lasts me around 5 years.

Also will use it for multimedia and internet browsing. Being able to hook it up to the telly would be nice too. HDMI out if I'm not mistaken is what I need there.

Anyway I'll leave it at that. Any advice or personal experience would be much appreciated.

    thanks! :)

I bought from pc specialist last year. It's a month out of warranty and has died, no power. I gave them a call to see would they cover it out of warranty but no joy. Bottom line it's the first laptop I have ever owned that failed in little over a year. Pc specialist may be cheap but they have a lack luster aftercare. I would never buy from them again.

I find that surprising tbh. I would imagine most companies would have helped you if it was only one month out of warranty. Good will and all that.

Even to take a look and see what the problem is. A laptop shouldn't be dying after a year.

That's what I thought all he said was you did have the option to buy a longer warranty. I've never needed one before so took it for granted it would work for a reasonable amount of time after paying about 700 for the laptop. I went with pc specialist because of the reputation it had but they failed miserable.

Strange. They have you in one way, ie out of warranty etc but that said i wouldn't be leaving it at that.
