Hi guys, I've been driving an 01 Skoda Fabia for the past 4 years and with the faults starting to stack up I reckon it's time to move on.
I reckon with my current employment situation (CES) I'll be looking at getting a €3K loan from the bank. So what is there out there?
The Fabia had a 1.4l engine. Not something that would rack up the penalty points but it didn't embarrass me on the motorway either. I'm not much of a speed freak either, I just want something that can 'keep up' and is comfortable to drive.
For tax affordability 1.5 is as high as I'll go. So all those big old mercs and beemers that show up in Bangernomics are not for consideration.
I'd prefer not to get an older car, even if it's a bit bigger. However if there's a good example of a well minded car, I won't disregard. Renault Meganes are popping up a bit but I see from elsewhere on this forum that they are cheap for a not so good reason. (Even though those 6speed Dynamique's look so so tempting) So what do you reckon guys and gals?

    This too shall pass.
