Importing a car

Lads i'm new to this so bear with me please

Specifically looking for a Kia Proceed, 2008 or newer. Been looking for the past 6/7 weeks but nothing of worth it has come up. My budget is about 5300-6300euro max (minus tax/insurance which comes to roughly 1000 for me)

So iv looked to NI/ UK and found some cars, specifically this one:
    http://www.autotrader.co.uk/classified/advert/201310189350694/sort/default/usedcars/model/pro_ceed/make/kia/page/1/postcode/bt39jp?logcode=p

    Few quick things:
    1) MOT means nothing here, so if I was to go across is the full Kia service history from the garage enough to make sure car under the bonnet is working? And what so of come back should I seek from a garage in case something was to go wrong?

    2) Does the UK tax system transfer to ours at all or do I have to tax it separately despite it having a few months left on its UK tax?

    3) For the car above or something similar from NI/UK... travel across, getting an NCT, paying VRT and then getting its taxed and insured, is it worth it?? It works out similarly if I was to buy a car from the republic but just a good bit more hassle

I need something in the next few weeks so don't have much more time to wait. Would anyone who has gone through this process recommend it ? or have any better suggestions to pursue?

    Thanks!!!!!!

    1) No, neither an MOT or NCT is any kind of garentee of anything, it is just prove that the car has passed a specific test. That's not a smart ass answer either; these tests don't check for mechanical problems from an owners perspective, rather from a road safety perspective. And to be honest you won't have frigg all comeback over here from a UK garage.

    2) Nope totally different systems (unfortunately) so a UK car has no Irish Motor Tax whatsoever regardless of what's in the window.

    3) that's very much down to your own maths to work out. Bear in mind that generally UK cars are much higher spec and much better looked after service and maintenance wise
