Yahoo spam?

Spam and spoof emails are becoming so sophisticated that I am now puzzled whether this email is genuine or not! It looks very convincing.

It is from Yahoo - a no reply email from email.yahoo-inc.com. It is telling me that they are reorganising european systems and this requires me to click on several links to find out about it and then:
What do you need to do?

Your continued use of Yahoo services after 21 March 2014 means that you accept the changes to the Terms and Privacy Policy. If you do not agree to them, then you must close your account before 21 March 2014.

all to do with moving their organisation to Ireland.

Why could they not do this by sending me an email to my yahoo account? I have only recently revived my yahoo account and I only have it to enable something else (can't remember offhand what )

So how am i supposed to know if this is right? I also have to do the right click thing to get pics, so I can't even see if they have logos etc, not that that would prove anything.

    So, am I being paranoid?

Great, thanks, I had already come to that conclusion and had no intention of opening it, but really, the way it is written is very convincing, very appropriate language etc.

Not sure whether this is relevant here but hardly warrants a separate thread. I regularly receive emails in my main Yahoo email a/c which appear to come from my own a/c. I've never opened one but what is behind this? How is it done and why?

    Thanks.

That is a real email from Yahoo. There is nothing to accept or enter details into. An address with yahoo-inc.com is their internal corporate addresses.

    I got that email too.

Yahoo want to scan all your incoming and outgoing email so that they can serve you with ads. (Same as with gmail)
At first they withheld the use of their web mail interface if you didnt accept their new terms and conditions(scanning).
I just used a Thunderbird client instead, but now they're telling everyone that continued use of their services implies acceptance of scanning.

My yahoo email address is my primary address which I've had for about 15 years. Now they're basically saying if you dont want us looking into your email close your account.

I can't believe there is no big deal about this disgrace.

They spoof the sender address in the header as by default, it isn't checked for validity. There are methods which some providers use to stop it (e.g. Gmail tends to be quite good at dumping them in with spam), but it would have to be done on their end and not yours, so I wouldn't worry too much about it.
