Cleaning my laptop

I'm just about to open up my Sony Vaio SVF15 to dry and clean some dust out as the fan has been very loud lately.

I just want to make sure I'm going to do it right because I've never done this before. There's no way to remove the battery from my laptop but I have an anti static wristband just in case so it shouldn't be a problem.

Is there anything I should watch out for when cleaning? I'm armed with cotton buds and a can of compressed air. Is this all I'll need?

For cleaning the fan, that should do it. But why not do the job right and get a small tube of thermal paste and some surgical spirits. Have a look at some videos online of how people apply thermal compound. Less is more!
