Digitally record UPC analogue?

Anyone know of an easy way to digitally record UPC analogue channels? I know one can use a dvd recorder and then rip the dvd. And I know there are some pc tuner cards that can record straight to pc.

But I'm wondering if there's a simple smart device that can take a co-ax in one side and a usb stick or disk in the other? ...or a terrestrial or satellite receiver that takes an "AV input" like the old vcr's used to.

Most but not all HDD recorders - the type Lidl/Aldi used to sell 5 years ago or so - have USB ports and record bog standard MPEG2. You need to copy the file rather than recording directly. Should be available second hand for buttons these days since the ATT switchoff despite being extremely useful for analogue UPC still. My father dumped his and then got UPC re-fitted, big mistake.
