I am booking a flight in June to Buffalo NY. The plane arrives at 13.20 and I have a choice of connecting flight. The first is at 14.29 on JetBlue, which is Aer Lingus's partner, or I could catch a later one at 18.40. My question is that as this is a through booking with Aer Lingus is it their responsibility to get me on to Buffalo or should I opt for the later flight? Needless to say Aer Lingus's pathetic website and their totally useless FAQ do not address this issue

If its one ticket any problems will be on the airline and they will get you there without charge. If the 13.20 and 14.29 departure are displayed on the website and available to book then it will be honoured. With the terminal move in New York connections can be make within 30 minutes and its much better than when they had different terminals.

Shouldn't be an issue. When booked together, it is the airline's issue to deal with. Aer Lingus will also transfer your bag to JetBlue so you don't have to collect it.

Assuming you're connecting in JFK, you'll pre-clear immigration and customs in Dublin. The Aer Lingus flight arrives in Terminal 5, where JetBlue departs from. This means you'll simply walk from gate to gate without any hassle. So unless there is a major delay, you should have no problem making the first flight.
