    Care to explain why?

But anyway, if you ring them, you can generally get to pay the toll plus a smaller fine. Rules are the rules frankly, by using the road you agree to the T&C's.

it will keep rising, ring them and give them a tale of being indisposed since Christmas and they may reduce it to the original amount

The car is registered at my home address and I was living in Dublin for two months over Christmas working. Only home today and seen the letters.

I forgot to pay last year. Anyway, never thought of it again until the €47 fine arrived.
I rang them. Told them that I had used the road but I had totally forgot to pay it and that I had never received any other notification or fine prior to the €47 - (That may or may not be true).
He immediately put the words in my mouth - saying that I had not used the road before and wasnt aware of how it operated and that being the case, he would cancel the penalty and take a payment of €3.10 there and then.
I said that was acceptable to me!:D

You'll get off. Ring them and moan.

eFlow are very good to deal with to be fair to them. Ring them up and explain the mistake. I was in a similar boat and they offered to wave all penalties if I signed up for a video account (which costs nothing); I think he may have even given me the outstanding toll at the lower rate as well.

Same happened to me. Genuinely forgot to pay for it back in September. Got the 40 odd notice and conveniently forgot to pay for that too. You can see where this is going. Anyway back in December I got a notice from some solicitors in Kerry of all places saying I now owed over 140euro. Still waiting for them to haul me to court. Will pay it before hand if it comes to that.

    :confused::confused:
Would you not just sort it out now rather than wait for a court summons to pop in the letterbox? The rest of us can cough up the toll everyday - the money and time eflow are wasting on solicitors chasing people like you only adds to that cost.

Why the hell would you let it go that far?

How do you think you'll do that ?
The first thing you'll know about a Court date it is when you get a summons and it'll be too late then. Non-payment is an offence against the Roads Act 1993 so it's a criminal matter and won't be like a civil case being settled on the steps of the Courthouse.

    Hi yawhat,

I would be happy to have a look at your details for you, if you haven’t rang to resolve the issue and see if there is anything I can help with.

As advised by the other posters the easiest way to avoid penalties is to register for a free video account on www.eflow.ie.

    Kind Regards,

It won't be €140 by that time.

Ring and explain and set up a video account. They were fairly sound with me.

Used it a couple of months ago, paid the toll the next day, but missed a digit in my reg.

got notification in the post a few days later and it was then i twigged. luckily i had ticked the box to receive an email receipt so i called them up and gave the reference and had the payment corrected and the fine waived.

    always get a receipt!

Get a video account. It doesn't cost anything and then you don't need to remember to pay. I have two cars on mine.

Can't read the big signs or spell!

Just pay them and learn your lesson.

The irony of making a spelling mistake in a post slagging off spelling, you've got to love it. Did you mean to put a question mark after spell, or was it supposed to be a statement?

Excellent company to deal with. Brought the fine back down to 6.10 as a goodwill gesture as it was the first time it happened!

At the outset of the barrier free tolling I drove through about 6 times and never made any effort to pay until the fines arrived.

Called them signed up to a video account winged it a bit and they let me off.
