Help with light bulbs

Hi guys I have spotlights in the kitchen in which the bulbs recently blew out on (when i say recently I mean over the last year but I'm been too lazy to replace them).

I sourced 12v 50w halogen phillips bulbs but the light says max is 12v 20w. Should the 50w bulbs work in the light? I put them in last night to avail.

If you are lucky you might just blow a fuse or transformer, if you are unlucky expect to see lots of smoke!

NEVER put in a higher wattage lamp than the fitting is designed for.

Possibly try LED equivalents for your 50 W lamps. Expensive but long life and very low power requirement
