I'm in the middle of going for a good few interviews. I just want everyone's opinion on this...

Is it annoying for your past employer to receive calls from potential employers regarding a reference?

I am not very keen on one job I may get and they want to contact references ( I could have other opportunities next week but I fear I may not and this is why I can't decline Job A

Thoughts?! My previous boss is kinda grumpy

    Thanks in advance

Its not annoying for most companies as it is to be expected when employees move on.In large organisations they have HR which deal with it they just roll out the standard X person worked here from x date to x date had good/bad attendence had/no disciplinary issues blah blah blah.It is annoying if you are using a personal referee and fail to inform them that you have given their name as a referee

It probably is a little, but I would imagine most employers are well used to it. Definitely worth giving a heads up to them if you haven't already!

Well if your manager said to put his name down then you have nothing to be anxious about, your former manager wont get annoyed if they get a call. All the same send your former manager an email or text let them know they should expect a call for references
