Looking or a mid size auto sub €2K - Daewoo Nubira?

Guys,

I'm looking for a Automatic for under €2K. I don't want to have an engine any larger that 1.6. Open to any suggestions. Would like to be up around 04 mark.

I hope to have something picked up in the next few days.

It's hard to recommend one of them even though it is probably the only thing that fits your criteria. They were not a very good car when they were new. I'd either up my budget or consider something a bit bigger than 1.6 litre.

What would you be suggesting Bazza... Would a Micra be a better buy?

This is a bit over budget but I'd say €2k wouldn't be far off the mark. A million times nicer than any Daewoo.

I would not normally suggest this vintage of primera but here it is. Others can advise if they are better than the daewoo or not. I suspect that they are but I am not sure. Also I dont know if the auto box in them is a renault or a nissan unit. This could be important.

Nubira is not the worst, they're reliable enough, If the oil was changed regularly, listen out for ticking noises from engine.

Hard to get an automatic that size in 1.6 for that sort of money @ 1800 it's worth a chance.

Most automatic stuff out there is 2.0L and above. Ireland dosent really buy small automatics, no value. There are some out there though, I know of a 96 micra auto for sale if its any interest.

Yeah Ireland doesn't buy small automatics because they are mostly crap. The very small ones (micras etc) are in demand and therefore go for a premium that's just not worth it. The value is in cars above 1.6. Only downside is bit more tax. Everything else is better!

I thought that model Primera auto was 1.8 litre only? Motor tax website shows that reg as 1.8 litre also.

You're right - The advert is incorrect.

I'd actually rather have the Nubira than a Primera. A p10/11 was a good car, the p12 (02 on ) is a horrid car.
