I Reversed into side of car.
Got three quotes to get car repaired.
Quote three was the cheapest quote therefore I would like the car to be repaired in this garage!
However, owner of car wants to go to most expensive garage.
    Who decides?
Person who owns the car or person that done the damage (who is paying!!!)

    Many Thanks.

Person who owns the car as far as I'm aware. At the end of the day, your mistake has caused this person a fair amount of hassle, so really you need to just pay up and move on.

    Contact your solicitor.

Better yet, contact your insurance provider.

Notify insurance company regardless but tell them you'll be paying. That way you've informed them and it should not affect your premium or NCB come renewal time, provided you do indeed pay up and the other party don't claim.

On the garages issue, ultimately it's down to the owner where he wants it repaired. In every case, the guy paying for the other persons car would want the cheapest but the owner would want it done right which usually costs more. He can choose and tbh you'll just have to agree. If you can't agree, he can make a claim on your insurance which will end up costing you more in the long run probably.

The person who suffered the damage in general. If they came back with a crazy quote you could challenge it - typically an insurance company would use an assessor here. Ultimately if you could not come to an agreement and it was followed through it would be for a court to decide the damages.

It was always my understanding that the owner gets a quote to get it fixed then notifys the person paying. If the payer is unhappy with the quote then they have to right to get a garage of their own choosing to do the repair providing its done right and returned to the condition it was prior to the accident. The arrangements also have to be practical to all, in other words the owner won't lose his car for a week or have to deliver it 200kms away. It's to stop the likes of the owner pulling a fast one and getting his mate to do the repairs and stick an extra grand or two onto the quote.

Nope, the guy can choose where to have it fixed. If they can't come to an agreement, he can lodge a claim with the OP's insurance company and the OP will have no input at all.

Hit the side of a car before, and the cheapest quote I got was by a garage that wasn't the most professional looking (down a country lane), and not really accessible by the other party. The 2nd quote that I got, was about a €100 more, but was from a more professional looking garage (off main road, proper garage setup), and their quote was taking the piss. They went for my "professional looking" garage. Rather than going for the cheapest quote, look for a cheap quote from a professional looking outfit.

The injured party can bypass you completely, so it's in your best interest to ensure you find them a nice looking garage, but one that doesn't charge you an arm and a leg.

Why keep a dog and bark yourself?

If you have insurance let them deal with it, that's what you're paying them for. They will send in an assessor who will deal with questions such as dearest / cheapest / nicest looking shed / best quality job etc.

If you are worried about your No-Claims-Bonus you could offer to pay your insurance company the full amount of the claim. If you can not afford to do that, how are you hoping to settle directly with the other party?

Because when jobs get done by garages for insurance companies, it suddenly costs so much more than say you walking in yourself to have the job done. It can be much cheaper to pay to fix the car privately without involving the insurance company except to notify them.

Cheaper does not always mean easier tho and sometimes agreements just cannot be reached amicably or in a timely fashion. But when they do work well, the generally work out cheaper.
