Meat or not.

I have just got a sourse that can get me out of date meat.All pork good cuts down to sausages.I've all ready got one lot of this all ready' and minced it up and put it in the chest freezer. now what i like to know is would u give this raw mixed with nut's once or twice a week, or would ye boil it first.

Don't give your dog raw pork. Always cook it fully. There can be harmful bacteria in raw pork. Personally I never give either of my dogs pork. I never give them raw meat either.

raw meat is much better than cooked for a dog, pork isnt the best to be giving them as it can cause worms, but once its frozen for a few weeks its meant to be ok, be careful giving spoilt food it could mess up stomachs very fast, i never fed pork to mine though

The lad i get this from feed's it raw and add's yogart as well would this help with the stomach.

Freeze it for couple days an give it to them couple times a week.raw is fine. Dogs can digest anything as far as I'm concerned. Read up on this before an they all said raw meet is far better than cooked.

Just a point, don't hold it in your freezer too long. Freezing delays but doesn't stop decay, so when its defrosted use ASAP as it will quickly go off. Pork is notorious for going off while frozen due to its high fat content which doesn't freeze probably under domestic conditions.
Probably will have no impact on the dogs but just thought I'd give you the heads up.

Freezing will not stop but halt natural decomposition of the meat but what it will do though is kill several parasites like for example tapeworm if there is contamination. Having said that you want a good freezer to achieve that because a few degrees sub zero isn't good enough.

Depending on the dog and what hunting you want it to do. You don't want to give the taste of raw meat to a dog that you want to shoot game over. I'd always cook my meat whether it be boiling or fried or thrown into the oven, n then soak it in with nuts.

Why dont you give raw meat to a hunting dog? This talk about giving dogs the taste of raw meat is bull****. I was feeding mine raw meat everyday for nearly 2 years and never had a problem. As have thousands of people

My own personal opinion and experience it can make a dog more likely be strong mouthed. Last thing you want is for your dog to tear a bird you shot to bits.

Would be more to do with the dog than what its eating i would think

I agreed I've dogs getting tripe , raw meat from our butchers and nuts never had a problem

I usualy give meat raw but I heard pork is bad to feed raw, a quick boil mite b best

I give the dogs raw beef and off cuts of venison but pork can be hard on the dogs stomach raw , no harm just cooking it a bit and mixing it in with the dry food.

Thank u lad's for great advice. I'll give it to them maybe 3 day's a week well cooked and mixed with nut's.
