As above. Purchased a dish today and lnb separately but need to get the lnb reducer separately but can't seem to get it in any shop. Kinda pissed as I bought TV and other bits and pieces required but they didn't tell me I needed that lnb reducer/adapter. Anyone know where I can one these things. Thanks all.)

You mean an adapter for a 23mm LNB to fit into a 40mm holder?

The majority of 'universal' LNBs are 40mm: are you sure you have the right LNB for what you want to receive?

Or maybe you're just trying to get the LNB intended for a Sky-type dish to fit in a 40mm holder?

Hi Peter. I have the sky type dish and the lnb but need a holder for it to fix it to the dish. Might just call the TV man tomorrow. This ain't my strong side lol

Just called the local TV man. He said he'd sort me out with the holder. Seems to know what I mean. At least I hope he does. Forgive my ignorance but what is the difference in lnbs?

Sky LNBs (any I've come across anyway) are a slightly loose fit in a 40mm holder. They are matched to the oval Sky dish shape & don't perform at their best when used on other shape dishes.

For non-Sky dishes, 40mm neck seems to be most common now, although there are still 23mm available, usually types intended for multi-satellite reception on a single fixed dish.

Another example of a 23mm LNB would be the Inverto type used for the Saorsat service that provides RTE & TG4 reception in areas not covered by Saorview. This is in a different frequency band (Ka band) to the UK channels (Ku band).
