Chipped tooth

I just noticed a chip off the side of one of my bottom teeth. I've a feeling it has a lot to do with the fact that I clench my jaw a lot of the time which is leading to me grinding them. I absolutely hate going to the dentist. In 2012 one of my back wisdom teeth cracked and had to be removed. I have a medical card and opted to pay the €70 to be gassed as I had previously had a panic attack and kicked my dentist, which I'm still mortified about! So anyway I'm just wondering does anyone have any experience of what their dentist did for a chipped tooth filling, removal etc? I've read that some dentists might cap a tooth. Does anyone have any idea what this might entail or cost?

Sorry for sounding like a huge baby but the fact that I'm even considering going to the dentist is a huge thing for me!
