Would you put you real name and address up on a public forum? Or would you like somebody else to put your details up?

There's a name in Kevin Glynns flight guide if you want to know. But after the name is the annotation ( please do not contact - strictly private airfield) as is his right.

I'd love to hear it flew under its own power, but I'd say it came over on the back of a truck :(

The airfield looks like it's well looked after.

    Eugene Larkin
owns that property, he is/was a property developer. Famous for building Tyrrellstown in Dublin. Probably now in NAMA.

No point in being coy in my post then.
Have you an address and phone number for him :-)

Flown over it a few times. I think a lot of us here would love a set up like that. If I had one I wouldn't mind the odd visitor but I suspect there are other issues like disturbing neighbours, insurance and planning restrictions.

There's one or two strips like that dotted around the country. There's a tarmac strip near Limerick as well. Also strictly private.

But if you're in the market Tony Ryan's former place was for sale. It has an airstrip, swimming pool, lake and 600 acres of land. €30 million will clinch it.

Then there's Galway airport. It'll go for a lot less than €30m. You can build your house overlooking the runway!

Is that info in the public sphere?
Regardless of personal opinion this could be seen as some sort of intrusion?

EDIT: in response to the below....I was too lazy to check.

Judging by a quick Google, there was an article in the Mail on Sunday about him on May 19th 2013 covering most/all the details in this thread. Whether or not we'd like to follow the lead of that... em... august publication is another matter. :)

Yes it is in the public sphere. in any case it's difficult to hide being rich having a huge estate and a private runway.

The article itself is not online. There are several newspaper archiving sites which have a copy of it and publish snippets but you'd have to pay to get a full copy.

Yes indeed, there's enough space for a beer fridge and you can close the door at the end of the spiral staircase to keep out the ladies of the house.

Having said that it may not be available just yet for residential use. It's going to make a very nice GA airport.
