    well lads! cant seem to get a right answer about the green cert.. do you have to have a to have a ag course done in college before you can apply or can you just apply and do a enterance exam? and how long does this course go on for?

    any advise on it would be great

    No u just apply go into your teagasc centre it starts in october and runs until following may and the same again the next year. Thats to get your level 5 1500 euro if you have a fetac qualification 500 if you dont . Level 6 runs for around three months or so and thats around 350 euro you need level 6 for green cert

    What if you have a level 8 degree (not related to farming)? I heard a figure of 2100 going around

    Yes that's the online course. You must have a level 8. Applications being taken in autumn and doesn't start until next year. Its hard for the young trained farmers to be there when fooking course doesn't even run every year.

    That is correct, applications are open soon too - best to email them and they will put your name on the list for all correspondance related to the course.

    I know a person looking to do the green cert part time. They gave a job, & don't want to take a year off work. Also they only have level 6 Hetac cert. what would be their best option

    do you have to have everything level 6 boxed off before you can apply for new entitlements in 2015 and for grants or is starting this autumn enough?
