    A snow bunting or a leucistic chaffinch.

    I'd be leaning towards a partly leucistic chaffinch too - though I'm sure that's influenced by the male chaffinch on the right.

    Have you seen it more than once? Was it hanging around in a flock of Chaffinchs, or were there any other birds with similar white colouring?

    Been here since the December storms, mostly on it's own. Will try and get a better photo.

    Red breast, pale yellow head and yellow and white wings.
    Can you get mutant birds? With freak colourings?

    Absolutely and is happens with Chaffinch often enough. It can create a bit of confusion and excitement as they often look a bit rare.

    Markings look off for it to be a snow bunting imho. Think Srameen may be right with it being a leucistic chaffinch.
