    Hi all

Just wondering have any of ye e-mailed any of the lads who write with the journal.

I have on two separate occassions used the e-mail addresses supplied at the top of the article to enquire further about a part of an article.

It was from two different guys; one of which was justin mc when he was beef guy.

never got a response from either. Just wondering why they bother putting on the e-mail details if they dont reply.

P.S. the e-mails werent complaints or criticism, it was just an enquiry for a bit more information on something within an article.

Anyone ever e-mail and get a response...

Ya emailed Peter Young a couple of years back, phoned me back and printed what I wrote almost word for word. Met him at the ploughing and thanked him for it.

I tried contacting John Shirley regarding an article about problem birds, had the total solution to his problem, complete waste of my time and I won't be bothering again.

+1, exchanged a few emails. Enjoy his articles of a general nature on soil.

He's fairly active on Twitter too. I'd say a lot of them rarely check their e-mail.

Got a call from Paidi Kelly one day about an article he wrote in the Irish dairy farmer mag. Spent an hour on the phone to him. Very interested in what my plans were and what the parents did. Full of information too.

Christ, I must be on the ignore list :)

in fairness the recent question i asked the weekly beef guy was where he was getting a price he was quoting as freely available for angus and Hereford flat price as I wasn't geting quoted it. Fair enough maybe that he didn't come back.

the question for Justin was technical based on an article he had but no reply. Was disappointed with no reply cause iwas asking nothing sensitive or too demanding of his time.

He writes online IFJ articles (Journal+). One about them birds and one saying a stomach tube was the most useful thing on the farm are the two I can think of.

In fairness to John he is more or less retired, always found him extremely generous with his time when talking with him.
