I am hoping someone can give me some help with the steps involved in replacing a toilet flush panel. I need to purchase 2 of the same type.

Do you know where I can buy 2 replacement toilet panel parts?

Is it easy to fit the replacement part? Can anyone recommend someone who could fit it for me?

    Thanks in advance.

Most dedicated plumbing suppliers should be able to get those.
Take measurements and pic's with you if you don't know the manufactures.
You need to make sure the new kits cover any holes in the tiles after the existing one.
Fitting instructions will be included with the new kit.

    Thanks.

Can anyone recommend a plumbing supplier who is likely to have these parts?

How easy is it to fit / follow the instructions for someone who is not a handy man at all.

Any handyman could fit. However I think you will not buy off the shelf, you will have to order the parts. Try IITC, Heatmerchants or any deadicated plumbing supplier. Not the likes of B&Q and these fake plumbing suppliers. You need a specialist.

Thanks for the help Froststop and Sawdoubters.
    what make is it

    I have no idea.
the front plate should pop off

There is no screws. The top of the toilet does not lift off. I can't see any easy way to pop it off. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks very much, that looks like the right type.

The product description says "Easy and fast installation", the problem is I don't even know where to start with installing this!

It should pop off if you use a small flat screwdriver.

It's the closest I could find.

Get one first and worry about fitting it then.

    Thanks.

I am going to order one, when it arrives I will try to figure out how to remove the existing unit and how to fit the new unit.

There is no Brand Name on the White Plate in the OP. It looks more like a Mechanical Flushplate than a Pneumatic one (which the Twyford one that was linked is).

To take it off the front part is normally clipped onto the back part which is screwed to the wall, normally with two springs at the bottom so if you push it upwards it should clip off.

I deal with almost all the branded flushplates but suspect the one you have might be one supplied by a POD manufacturer (BathSystems or the like) who used unbranded Italian/Portugese Frames/Plates and can be a nightmare to source. If its an apartment, do you know who the builder was?

    Thanks Dice75.

I just spoke to a neighbour who said that she thinks that another neighbour ordered from Bathsystem.com too. I have emailed Bathsystem.com with a photo, hoping they reply and they have a reasonably priced part. Are Bathsystem.com the only supplier I should check with?

    Yes, it is an apartment.

The apartment was built by Bernie McNamara.

That looks like the shires ones , the are mechanical not air ( pneumatic ) , to remove it try sliding it to the left or right , smallmans in ranelagh do replacements, if not in stock they can order them in.

Hi, I recently purchased a set of panels from bathsystems but finding it difficult to install. can only get the left panel to work.. Any suggestions? Think I am in the same apt development as you JTMan, did you get your panel to work?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 5,558 ✭✭✭JTMan

    Yeah, I installed 2 panels.

In the end removing the old panel was easy.

Getting the new one on was not easy. Anyway, I did it in the end, can't remember all the steps. They both work fine now and have for some time.

Strange that you can get one panel to work and not the other.

Is a part missing? If you are in the same block as me, you could get the handy man who works for the management company to do the install, I am told that he has experience with these toilet panels. He will obviously charge you for the call out.

    Dear JTMan
I assume you live in Elmpark apartments. I too have this problem. I tried to glue the very weak piece, but it broken again after a few months. Can you tell me how you ordered the the flash panel part from Bathsystem.com. Thanks for your help.

I emailed Bathsystem.com. They offered to do a bulk order with my neighbour which worked out cheaper per unit. Bathsystem.com shipped the units.

Thanks, but you have a part number or description which can I use to write to them regarding the flushing panel. Thanks again.

    Name: While Flush Plate Oliver
    Code: placca 10

    - I suggest that you send a photo of the unit along with the above.
    - I suggest you give them your address as they can match parts to similar orders from Elm Park.

Again thanks for your help JTMan, I will contact them shortly.
