Buy entitlements? Active farmer with....

So I'm an active farmer but some of the farm has been on a long-term lease that is due for renewal. As I'm expanding I'm considering taking it back and looking at buying entitlements for it. Any ideas if this is a good idea? Hard to tell given it's all a bit vague at the minute...
