Help and Advice Needed - Im gonna try my Best with it but who knows....

Below are pics of a bit of my garden before and after, ( we only moved in few weeks ago so trying to tackle the garden any dry...ish day i can, in the before pics i actually had 2days work done of it before so just shows how bad, quite proud if i do say so myself :) )

All this done with a spade, rake , saw, garden snips and fork - which i snapped :(

Im thinking of making a Putting Green in this Area, Rough around the sides,
    Fence will be gone also

Now im in two minds wether to go with fake grass or normal grass ( by normal i mean i would get proper golf green grass and same for the rough from my Club)

Now my problem is i dont even know how to level it or best way too do this, i still need to dig it up and turn it, should i be putting seeds down soon with all the rain we are having or what?
Iv put this in the Gardening Thread aswell just posted it here for the craic and for anyone who is half thinking of doing something similar :)

Are you actually thinking of putting in a real "green" ?? What height will you have it at ? Are you prepared to mow it every day ? With an expensive mower that will allow you cut at real low heights? Are you prepared to spray it for diease ? Top dress it frequently ?
Either splash out on artificial grass , which also needs maintainance or use your carpet to keep your eye in.

I'd imagine wasting your time putting down seeds now. Too cold and the birds are hungry. Keep us updated with the progress.

Agree with hawk lady on this one, alot of work in maintaining a putting green! The initial grow in stage (if using seed) will take a lot of work too, roughly 18 months before you could use it properly, that's from seeding to being able to cut it to greens height! As hawk lady has said you'll need to fertilse and top dress it periodically! You will need a cylinder mower to cut down to greens height. Judging by your pictures you have some trees on your boundary, trees cast shadows and will lead to disease, so you will need to spray a fungicide for this. You may weigh up the maintenance of grass compared to the price of artificial turf and see what suits your pocket and availability of time! If you are serious about a decent putting green then grass is the way to go! I'm my opinion! Hope this helps! 😀

Go for the artificial - there is so much work to maintaining real greens. You will need very good drainage. I think the guys who lay the synthetic grass put down hardcore and then a dust and compact it using a whacker. Lots of videos on Youtube. But don't even consider real grass IMO.

Ya i forgot to add in that i have around half ton of sandy stone aswell as rocks
So after digging up stumps and stuff ill put down weed killer, then dig up the soil and put down the rocks and hardcore,

Any idea how far down i should dig down for this?

You shouldn't have to dig down at all provided that the soil is well drained. If it is wet, just put in a few drainage pipes with gravel around them. This video might give you a few ideas. Would love to do this myself.... some day when I have a bit of spare cash :D
