Section M of the 2009 form 11 asks one to quote the assets ACQUIRED and the consideration given in the year. In the case of shares acquired I am taking this to mean the total value of all shares purchased in the the year irrespective of whether or not they were disposed of in the year . Do I have the correct interpretation?

( An alternative approach might be to look at the nett acquisition ( ie allowing for disposals within the year as well) ).

Acquired is the amount acquired.

The disposals will be dealt with in the Capital Gains tax section.
