Just wondering of anyone here had had any dealings with the above dealer near the Stillorgan Park Hotel in Dublin? Going to look at a car there on Monday and would like any feedback you may have.

Yeah, I'd Googled the name and discovered he was the ex MD of Maxwells and was also part of Rathdown Motors before they closed. Thanks.

Thanks for the advice, guys. Went there today and put a deposit down on a nice shiny red Mk 3 MX-5 :D Good people to deal with, very professional and businesslike.

It's a great looking car in great condition .... except for the Triangle tyres :eek: I mean, seriously, who'd do that to a car like that??

Triangle tyres on an mx5. That should be fun.
I didnt know anything about James Hennessy motors but you would get a fair impression from the car ads alone that they were a serious operation. Nice stock etc. Good to hear that they are good to deal with.

I had a very poor experience with this dealership. Bought a bmw for what I thought was a fair price. The car has been nothing but trouble, I accept that let the buyer beware applies here, but I have now uncovered underlying problems with the vehicle that I couldn't have spotted when purchasing.

Went back to them accepting that legally they didn't have to do anything for me, but looking for a reasonable trade in option or a fair cash price. I had done my research and was just looking for a fair deal for both sides. Firstly they just never got back to me after several phonecalls. When I eventually got hold of the guy who sold me the car in the first place IMO he offered me a low price for the car and he didn't seem to bat an eyelid at the fact that based on the price he offered it would mean that they were depreciating the car by not that far off half (price included a trade in) of what they sold it to me for a year earlier!

I blame myself for the purchase, I let my heart rule my head, but don't be fooled by the suits and location, these guys seem to put a fast sale above everything else. Terrible customer service and seemingly no concept of the well known business fact that it is repeat customers which are the lifeblood of any small business. Best of luck for the future, James Hennessy Motors, I think you are going to need it.
