My OH has hair that is really thick and usually ignores gel. What kind of gel would he need to get this style?

He doesn't want his hair to look caked in product either. Thanks!

I doubt that's gel. I'd day that mouse and hairspray. If he wants it like that he'll probably need to blow dry it, and use a small about of matte paste or maybe a water based gel pomade like layrite or suavecito to finish. It looks easy but it takes a while to get used to it.

Half the battle will be getting the right cut. Somewhere like Waldorfs in Dublin would be good.

My OH has this style of hair and he would use Toni & Guy leave in conditioner (from Boots) when damp, the blow dries it into shape and finishes with hair spray. His cut is tight enough at the sides and really long on top so blow drying is easy enough.

Brilliant, thanks! He's got the cut already, but tends to just leave the length flop to the side rather than actually style it properly so I'm trying to encourage him to look after it.

Check out YouTube. There's loads of styling videos using products as different as mouse to wax to full on pomade.

Usually I go for a 2 blade and scissors cut on top?

Would a 1.5 or 2 blade give me a cut like this?
