I will be in Limerick for the weekend, staying out near UL in Castletroy. Would like to get in about 10-12 miles on Sunday, any suggestions of good routes in the area? Female and running on my own early-ish, so somewhere not too secluded or off the beaten track would be better.
    Thanks.

The Limerick 10 mile road race is on at 1:30 on Sunday if you're interested.

Is that the one in Caherdavin? Can't see any other on calendar. Presume there's entry on the day?

yes that's the Caherdavin race. Originally it was meant to be on St Stephens Day, however it was cancelled due to ice on the road.

Yes there is entry on the day for €15 or online prior to that for €10

Hey did you race? I managed 68:39. Found the course very hilly.

well done, great time! I decided not to, to be honest it was on a bit late in the day and I needed to keep afternoon a bit free, so i did an easy long run around Castletroy/ UL area in the early morning instead. Might get back to you about other races in Limerick though, if you're in the know- am in those parts from time to time and would love to try a race somewhere different to my usual haunts!

I wouldn't say a great time. McMillan has me at a much faster time from my 800m.

Hope you enjoyed your time in Limerick.

Sure email me whenever you're interested in knocking around these parts.
