Hi, just bought a 07 Santa Fe diesel 2.2. had it two weeks and it has cut out twice. Both times when pulling off from a junction, and both times the fuel level was low, with ~ 60km left per trip computer. Been looking it up and possibly fuel filter or fuel pressure problem? Appreciate any other suggestions on what problem is?

    Thanks.

The first thing id do is replace the fuel filter specially if you don't know when it was last no. There is no point in doing anymore until that's done.

    Thanks Bpmull.

Should add that all dashboard lights went out also. When I switched off and turned the key again it started with no problems and no engine fault lights came on. Just spoke to a friend who thinks it's an electrical problem due to this, bad battery connection or main fuse connection. I'll check those on the morning anyway.

If all the lights are going out then it could be electrical definitely check the battery connections as your friend said. Because if it was fuel filter then the car would cut out but the battery engine light display etc would stay on.
