SCAR 16 Needs Work!

Have a SCAR light to sell, needs work in terms of a new motor and a fuse, but there is a completely brand new version two gearbox in the gun, all the black parts have been painted in Duracoat and the screws have been Loctite 242'd to prevent loosening, the optic is a compact EoTech replica with a 4X flip-to-side mount, PEQ-2 battery box with red laser (needs batteries) and tape switch, new front and rear sights, folding adjustable buttstock and cheek rest, grip-pod is included also.
No rattles or anything loose, i put this gun back together as much as my spare time allowed me to, im not going to get to use it - so i may as well let it go.
When this was firing it was shooting at 300fps (at 1 joule legal limit) which reminds me - no battery or charger.
This is a fixer-upper hence the low price, it is a "skirmish hardened" gun with minimal signs of wear, has loads of extras along with a brand new gearbox - it will make a great gun with the proper parts.
Asking for E180 Or Very Nearst Offer, Im selling the gun as-is so i will not be selling its parts.
Based in Laois/Kildare area, i can drive half way to most places with the right offer.

    Hey mate
    What brand Scar is this?
And are you willing to split the eotech and magnifier?
    Thanks :)

I think its a D-Boys, i didnt get a box with it, its solid as a rock though, just needs more time than i have to spare to get it back to life.
Sorry - not splitting up the deal.

No bother, if you decide to split, I'll offer 50 for the eotech and magnifier posted?
It'll bring down the price nicely ;)

Sorry, not interested in Co2, nice Desert Eagle though.
Gearbox is a high torque Systema, brand new.
    Also, motor has been installed.

is there anything else the gun needs to get fixed?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 300 ✭✭DBarret

It needs a fuse installed, or i think some people bypass this? I'm not too up in current techniques to upgrading, hence why i just bought a new drop-in complete gearbox instead of messing with the original myself.
You could add a new barrel too if you wanted to go along that route i suppose, but the one in it works fine.
Nothing else i can think of, I'm looking at it now and i cant think of anything more.

    Hey mate
What motor is installed in this, and is it actually a Systema brand gearbox?
Where did you purchase the gearbox?
If the answers are satisfying, then offer asking please :)

The gearbox was bought from ehobby, i remember it cost about €125 give or take, i bought it about a year ago, i remember the box was white, well packed with custom shaped foam and had "Systema" in red on the front with its specs on a sticker, "high torque.. etc etc"
I'm being honest when i say im not an airsoft expert or anything so you probably know more than me about this, - im not really bothered, im just happy to let it go to a good home as its sitting here with an inch of dust on it.

I understand, any chance you'd be able to provide a link to the gearbox in question?
Sorry for the hassle, just the only way to know for sure!
Sounds cheap for a Systema gearbox you see..
    Thanks :)

If it sounds too cheap then your probably right, as i said - I'm no expert, i remember some gearboxes were crazy money on the site, i do remember the details about the box, and what was printed on it, if your not sure then i recommend you err on the side of caution.
    As regards a link.... sorry!
Also - motor is generic DBoys.

    No bother mate, thanks anyway,
I think I'll save myself the pain and withdraw that offer so,
Hopefully you'll manage to sell it soon :)
    Thanks!

Is the PEQ box light and laser or a battery box?

PEQ box is a battery case with red laser built in, it has a tape switch with instantaneous on/off function.
The laser is adjustable (can be zeroed) with a small Allen key.
