Won't waste your time and will come to point. I was caught driving without insurance and got caught by traffic cop,I didn't have nct n insurance . The guard stopped me is someone I know from my previous work place, he use to come there for his meal n know my face very well n use to have a chat sometime with him.
When I was stopped he wasn't too bad with me and I apologised a lot and told him the reason why there is no insurance on the car.he know that I'm not someone who will drive without insurance to safe the money. He told me that he is not promising anything.but I should get my insurance sorted and bring it to garda station and " he will take it from there"
For license he said that I don't have to worry, he will check from system. And he brought me to the point where I was going cause I had stuff in the car.n took my car from there.
Know. Do u guys see any chance that he will give me one more chance and won't bring me to court.
    Your opinion is much appreciated.

I'd have this thread deleted immediately, TBH. Discretion is your friend here.

If he took your car off you the ball is in play and I would expect to see fines and penalty points.

I really can see how the garda can use discretion even if he knows you.

Is it an offence that carries a disqualification?

As i know its on his discretion to take me to court or not, but penalty points wont bother me cause i still have commit some thing serious , regardless of the situation i drove in, that time, but can he let me off with fine and penalty points?

You deserve to be booked and fully prosecuted. Looks at the crap going on with Gardai dropping penalty points for people. If the Garda let's you off they deserve to get fired.

With Recent events what guard will use discretion these days, one word from you to wrong person about this guard who let you off for no insurance /nct, will land him in a alot of trouble.

doubt he can let you off once the car seizure paperwork is going through.(nor should he)

It doesn't excuse you but I would be interested to hear your logic on this point

Grand so, they are likely to let a backward off first time and probably for your first 3 times if you play the right type of violin on the day.

I'm confused. What other benefits are there to not having insurance other than saving money?
